“If they don’t learn the way you teach, teach the way they learn” (Jane Bluestein)
Not all students learn in the same way and at the same time; certain approaches must be followed in order to enhance students’ competence or help them maintain a certain academic level.
For this reason, Bishmizzine High School has developed a Special Education Department to integrate students with learning difficulties/disabilities in regular classrooms.
The aim of our program is to help students reinforce their skills. This is done through the interference of the special educator in class or through pullout sessions in a special learning center. Several modifications are done to the curriculum, lesson plans, exams and homework in order to help our students grasp the academic concepts and acquire skills.
A multi-disciplinary team that includes a speech therapist, a psychomotor therapist, and a special educator, aid students in overcoming their difficulties.
